How this site and my AI setup run

A Synology NAS serves this public site. A Mac mini on my internal network runs an AI agent that uses several models, devices and messaging apps. This page shows how the pieces fit.

1 · Hardware

Two machines, split by who can reach them.

Synology NAS · public side

Runs nginx in a Docker container and serves this site as static files, behind Cloudflare.

Mac mini · internal side

Stays on my internal network. It is the AI playground: the agent runs here, and it maintains the NAS over the local network.

2 · Models

One primary model, two secondary ones, and a router on the way.

Anthropic · Sonnet

primary The default model for the agent.

Anthropic · Fable 5.1

secondary Runs alongside the primary.

OpenAI · Astra 6

secondary Runs alongside the primary.

Model routing

in progress A router decides which model handles each task.

3 · Devices

The agent is connected to the devices I use, so it can act where I do.

4 · What it can do

Text and message

Send texts and use messaging apps.

Call

Place phone calls.

Operate devices

Full control over the connected devices.

Run on a schedule

Jobs start on a timer and report back to me.

On this site, the agent:
  • updates the daily Market page,
  • emails me a nightly summary of site traffic,
  • edits and deploys these pages.

5 · The six layers

The same setup, mapped onto the layers in AI Agent Anatomy.
